Year - University Preparation University Preparation Do you want to prepare for your university studies (in Austria or at home)? Learn German - Academic Year 1 + 2 A preparatory German course with a duration of 13 to 39 weeks is an excellent foundation for meeting the challenges of university studies. Your German course consists of 4 daily lessons (Academic Year 1) or 6 daily lessons (Academic Year 2) in small international study groups following a recognized curriculum. Exam preparation and OSD-exam Mittelstufe An additional certificate preparation course gears
you up for taking an internationally recognized exam. You get to know
typical exam questions and get ready with sample tasks. Accommodation You have a choice of host families, apartments, or school residence accommodation the whole year round. At host families and in school residences it is possible to book breakfast, half board or self-catering (cooking facilities). Our apartments are equipped with a kitchen in which you will find the most important utensils and crockery. More information Visa information EU citizens and citizens of Island, Liechtenstein,
Norway and Switzerland do not need a visa at all. Citizens of some countries
need to apply for a visa for stays longer than three months. Citizens
of some countries (esp. Turkey, Russia and CIS-states) may find it difficult
to get a visa for stays longer than 3 months. In this case, we recommend
that you come to Austria for 3 months at first, return to your country
and then come back for a second study period. Requirements for studying at an Austrian university In 2005 certain restrictions to university admission especially in popular studies (i.e. medicine-related studies, biology, pharmacy, psychology, business studies and others) have been introduced at some universities. Please contact the university for information. For EU, EEA or Swiss nationals and others: Citizens of other nations need in addition
to that Universities Most universities offer 4-year degree programmes. After completing a 4-year degree you graduate with a master's degree ("Magister"). You can opt for further studies, called doctorate ("Doktor"). You can also attend university as visiting student and stay for one or two terms only.
