Visa information

EU citizens and citizens of Island, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland do not need a visa at all. Citizens of some countries need to apply for a visa for stays longer than three months. Citizens of some countries (esp. Turkey, Russia and CIS-states) may find it difficult to get a visa for stays longer than 3 months. In this case, we recommend that you come to Austria for 3 months at first, return to your country and then come back for a second study period.
For detailed information see our flyer „Entry to Austria“.

Requirements for studying at an Austrian university

In 2005 certain restrictions to university admission especially in popular studies (i.e. medicine-related studies, biology, pharmacy, psychology, business studies and others) have been introduced at some universities. Please contact the university for information.

For EU, EEA or Swiss nationals and others:

Citizens of other nations need in addition to that
